Promotion: The Chamber is all about promoting You - our member. Each summer we set up at different events taking place at the Fulton County Fairgrounds (Threshers Convention, Antique Motorcycle Show and the Fulton County Fair), and pass out information about You. We also put together packets of information about Wauseon and our members for campers that stay at the Fair Grounds. (If you would like to provide us with materials about your business we will make sure it is available to the thousands of people passing through our booths and to the hundreds of packets we make up.) . You as a Chamber member also receive special advertising discounts with the Wauseon Youth Connection, and WMTR. Please contact our office for details on these special rates.
Chamber Website: With just about every household now having internet capabilities, many people look up information they need about Wauseon through our website. You, as a chamber member are linked on our website. We have had thousands of visits to our website since its inception!
Referrals: We receive hundreds of calls each year requesting information and referrals. Only Chamber Members are given to these requests. That's just another example of how your membership benefits you!
Business After Hours: Provides you an opportunity to get together and network with other chamber members in an informal setting.
Gift Certificates: Help keep hometown dollars in Wauseon! The Chamber offers gift certificates for sale that can only be used at Chamber Member's businesses. They can be purchased in amounts as small as $5 and are as simple to use as cashing a check! These certificates are great ideas for employee recognition, thank-yous, birthdays, graduations, Christmas, or that hard -to-buy for person in your life.
Membership Directory: Each year the Chamber publishes a directory with all our members listed. Each member is listed by business category, as well as in alphabetical listing in back for easy reference. This is a great marketing tool and reference guide to people in the area.
Ribbon Cuttings: The Chamber offers ribbon cuttings for new businesses, as well as grand re-openings for your existing business. We will also arrange for the Fulton County Expositor to be there! Just give us a call and we will schedule a day and time.
Scholarships: Every May the Wauseon Chamber of Commerce awards 2-$1,000 scholarships to two graduating Wauseon High School seniors. Applications for these scholarships are available to any senior in the school guidance office.
Community: The mission of the Wauseon Chamber of Commerce is to promote economic growth and business development in the Wauseon area by providing "meaningful services for its membership" and helping to sustain a high quality of life within the community.
